HelRaiZer | There are a couple places that make touch-up paint for the prowlers and I have bought those. What I am hoping to find is a place that sells paint/dye for the seats. Figured I'd ask here if anybody knows a place that sells the paint/dye or that will custom make it. I'm looking for the orange color for the seats. The seats in the prowler I have were already dyed, however, it's a yellow/orange way lighter then the car, so I was going to attempt to darken it. Any help appreciated.... |
ed monahan | Could you use shoe polish? Old shoe repair place might have dye, also. Maybe a tan shoe polish would darken it some. Try a small spot not in plain view.

DublinOH | Rick Ware dyed his purple and silver. Not sure what products he used, but he will chime in.. |
BeWare | First in April 2004 we sent out our seats and had them recovered in Ox Blood and Silver leather. Oxblood was the closest color to Purple available. I was never really happy with the Ox Blood color. So in October 2004 I had a guy that restored leather seats for cars, boats and private airplanes dye the seats and console. I met him at a car show. I removed the seats and he came to the house and did them in the driveway. He custom mixed the color to match the car. He even put a Pearl clear coat on to closer match the car. The leather for the Ox Blood portion of the seats was excellent quality. The leather on the silver part was of a lesser quality. The purple portion has held up extremely well. But due to the quality of the silver leather it has worn faster. Around 2018/19 I had the seats redone by a different person recommended by an auto and boat upholstery shop. I’m sorry I can’t tell what kind of dye was used either time. Look in your area for someone that restores leather seats. If they specialize in autos, boats and planes all the better. Used car dealers use the people allot. IMO its the leather quality and wear and not the dye that effects longevity

HelRaiZer | Yeah mine is wearing and you can tell it wasn't professionally done, no idea what they used. Finding somebody in my area is a small problem as I'm in a small town, not a lot here. Padded Side Panel Drivers Seat This message has been edited by HelRaiZer on 02-14-2024 at 05:27 PM |
